Been on Mevacor for a month, well the generic, and not sure if it’s the med or something else, causing my head to hurt so bad, eyes hurting, blurred vision, ect…also have migraines, but take medicine, been to the eye dr. nothing wrong with my eyes, and thought about the only thing different is the medicine I started after my physical for high cholesterol Mevacor. So, I’m not taking it for a few days to see if this is the problem, and hope it is, but wondered if anyone else has had trouble with this particular medicine in the past, and could tell me your symtoms if you have and if you had to discontinue it, or if you ar on it and it’s done good for you. This is the only thing different I have done in the last month and just thought about it, and even called my neur for migraines, not thinking of this, which he just prescribed more migraine meds which are very stronge and I’m not comfortable taking, so called a phamacist and this is what she suggested is to not take the Mevacor 2 see

I never took Mevacor, but did take a bunch of other cholesterol-lowering meds. They all gave me problems – mostly severe muscle pain. I now take Lescol and Zetia and am able to tolerate both.
It could take some time for your system to be completely clear of the Mevacor; perhaps the pharmacist could tell how long.
In any case, if your cholesterol is high, you should go back to the doctor and get a prescription for a different drug.
