Augmentin is a powerful drug, and that dose is recommended by physicians to treat a variety of infections. Your doctor is treating you for an infection and you should take it as he prescribed. It is perfectly safe, but at that dose you could develop a yeast infection in your private area. You can avoid this by eating yogurt with the live bacteria in it every day.
Dentists often prescribe this dose for severe gum infections and abcessed teeth. If you develop itching and a vaginal discharge, let your doctor know, as he will need to treat that as well. Please realize that he gave you that dose because whatever he is treating you for warrants it.
Best wishes and feel better soon!
that’s not a high dose – it’s the normal, standard dose.
although there’s no interaction of the drug with alcohol nor pot, those things may slow down you recovery from the actual infection that your doctor is treating. If you do them, do them in moderation.
By the way, if you think about it, asking anonymous people, with no medical training, for advice to overrule that of your trained, certified physician is probably not a good idea.
You would be much better off asking this question about your medication, to your actual doctor who knows your case, and your medical history. — that’s why you have a doctor.
